Announcements:
Joining Day is September 30th
Boy Scout Troop 317 is currently having a fall joining period open to all
boys who have completed the 5th grade, are 11 years old by October 1, 2008,
or have earned the Webelo's Arrow of Light Award. No scouts will be taken
again until spring 2009. Applications are due by Joining Day, September
30th. For more information, contact Jeff or Kathee Dimock at 770-582-1517 or

New scouts should attend the scout meeting for the first time on the 30th
and new parents should attend an orientation meeting that night.

Interested in your son joining the troop?
New scouts are welcomed into Troop 317 twice a year, in September & April.
Look for New Scout Orientation information on this website.
Meetings are held every Tuesday from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Uptown Auditorium of Perimeter Church.
The troop does not meet the months of December & July.
Full Class A uniform and handbooks are required.
The weekly meeting after a weekend campout is for PLC members only (Patrol Leaders Council; leadership team only).
This session is a time to debrief about the past campout
and plan for the next month's activities.
The rest of the troop need not attend.
Remember, full uniform!
Troop are generally held every 3rd full weekend every month (except December and July).
The June outing is reserved for Scout Summer Camp at Woodruff Scout Reservation, June 10-16, 2007.

Troop Member Information:
Use this list for the basic personal equipment needs for any campout.
Troop Committee meetings
are held on the THIRD TUESDAY night of the month and meet in the main
conference room on the third floor of Perimeter Church Kidstown at
7:00 PM (Same time as Scout meeting). The Troop committee meetings are
open to all parents of scouts, as well as other interested adults.
Please contact the Committee Chairman for the meeting agenda.
